The Client

Family-run business Vaughans is the largest independent electric retailer in Wales with a proud history of giving the highest levels of customer service and support for 50 years. Vaughans has five showrooms across south and west Wales, with the flagship store in Haverfordwest and other stores in Cardiff, St Clears, Llanelli, and Aberystwyth. It’s Wales’s leading independent suppliers of a host of electrical goods such as home audio visual equipment, IT equipment, major domestic appliances, small domestic appliances, commercial appliances, and floor care appliances. The business has grown and flourished over the past five decades because of its focus on training highly motivated staff to deliver excellent customer service, alongside the excellent quality of the appliances and equipment it sells. That first class customer support includes offering same-day delivery and a price match to its customers and being associated with the best brand names in electronics, such as in its dedicated Bose store which has the complete Bose range.

The Brief

The team at Vaughans told us their existing website was looking dated and not converting the volume of sales that they needed to drive online revenue growth.

They wanted a website that converted website visitors into paying customers, and did their brand justice, showcasing the established history of the family-run business and the quality of their customer service. They also wanted a site that was SEO friendly, and which could grow with the business as it grows.

The scope of high-quality professional images to transform the look and feel of a website was really evident in this project – to help showcase the products and make them front and centre with good use of white space in order to maximise online conversions.

The Solution

We gave them a custom-designed ecommerce website focused on converting more site visitors into sales.

Vaughans use specialist third-party stock control software that needed to be integrated with the website through their software developers, Cefa Soft. We successfully collaborated with Cefa Soft to give Vaughans an end product that they were delighted with.

The solutions ensures that staff at Vaughans don’t need to double up on data entry, freeing them up to deal with day-to-day activities instead.

Plus, if a product sells out in store or online, that product then shows as no longer available on the website. A great way to avoid customers being disappointed or frustrated by a wait for the products they’ve ordered.

Other Challenges

Previously, Vaughans admittedly didn’t always keep a close eye on their website analytics. We worked with them on a strategy for driving traffic to the new website and are keeping a close eye on their analytics to ensure we’re achieving both an increase in traffic and sales. The Vaughans team understands the importance of digital marketing for the continued success of their business but admit digital isn’t their thing! They now have a specialist outsourced partner in us for all their digital marketing needs so that they can instead focus on what they do best. Vaughans now have an online shop that they are confident in, and are working in partnership with us to drive as much relevant traffic to it through SEO, content and social media marketing techniques.

We have recently started working with Mark and his team on our new venture to enhance our digital footprint. Mark has made the whole experience easy, and his helpfulness, support and knowledge will help our business grow.
