Renowned for bringing an authentic taste of Japan to Cardiff, Tenkaichi is a sushi and noodle bar famed for its great atmosphere and excellent customer service. This popular restaurant serves the freshest sushi and sashimi from sustainable sources and hearty noodle and rice dishes. It’s perfect for a family get together, first date, or hang out with friends. Tenkaichi means “number one under heaven” in Japanese, and the restaurant goes the extra mile to live up to its name by ensuring the high quality and freshness of its fish, and by using authentic Japanese recipes and ingredients. It also gives vegans and vegetarians plenty of dining options and caters for people with gluten intolerances. The business’s whole ethos is one of sustainability and being CO2 neutral, looking at its entire supply chain to reduce its environmental impact.
Our clients asked us for a website to help increase table bookings and takeaway orders, making the process easy for diners and helping them find Tenkaichi more easily in online searches with improved SEO.
They also asked us to help them spend more time doing the things they love, including creating amazing Japanese dishes and looking after customers, and less of the things they don’t love quite so much – admin responding to queries via their website.
The scope of high-quality professional images to transform the look and feel of a website was really evident in this project – not just in showcasing the businesses but in conveying the character, and community culture of the website.
We delivered a more modern and user-friendly website that will increase sales and reduce the time spend in admin, freeing up Tenkaichi staff to create and serve their authentic Japanese dishes and keep the drinks flowing at the bar.
The new website has multiple third-party solutions to cater to every customer’s needs and showcases mouthwatering images of their delicious dishes.
It has a ‘Book Now’ function using Tablein, an ordering function for dining in and takeaways using Yoello, a drop-down FAQ section, a newsletter sign up feature via Mailchimp, and a Google map showing people how to find the restaurant.
We also gave them a news blog section to help Tenkaichi communicate with customers, keeping them up to date and telling them the Tenkaichi story, as well as end-user CMS training so that they can control all their web content moving forward.
Being busy restaurant owners, our clients just couldn’t find the time to write the copy for the new website, so we provided them with professionally written content and included the meta information for good SEO. To build trust throughout the site, we peppered the content with awards and testimonials and encouraged customers to leave reviews with a strong call to action. We also provided social media icons to help encourage growth of their social media following – all to build strong customer engagement.
We’re really pleased with the new site. We spent some time with Web Adept and drew up a spec for them to follow, explaining what we needed to replace the old website. They followed that closely and delivered a new site that works well and has integrated third-party booking and menu apps, making things easier for our staff. It looks great and is on brand, and the process of developing it ran smoothly. A good experience!
