The Client

When Lyndon and Louise took over this beautiful 18th Century inn, they knew they had to transform the building and the business. Together they created an elegant restaurant, a bright and modern lounge, a welcoming sun terrace, and is in the process of refurbishing its seven rooms for guests, combining old-world charm and the best of contemporary design. The Angel now offers a varied seasonal lunch and dinner menu created from Welsh produce, including options for vegetarians, vegans, and those needing gluten-free dishes, with classic and contemporary cuisine. Its bar is also stocked with award-winning craft ales, Welsh gins, and whiskies. As the inn didn’t have a website, Lyndon and Louise also knew they needed to reflect all of that in their online presence, and they came to Web Adept after having worked with us on previous website projects.

The Brief

Pembrokeshire is one of the most beautiful areas of Britain and attracts seven million visitors a year. Both visitors and discerning local people, though, use the internet to shop around for places to eat and drink and like to be able to book online in just a few clicks. So, Lyndon and Louise knew getting the right online presence was key to the success of their business.

They asked us to create an impactful website that grabbed the attention of anyone visiting it, inspiring them to act and make a booking. Lyndon and Louise asked us for a ‘book a table’ feature to make it easy for users to book without making phone calls or sending emails. As the inn’s rooms are being refurbished, having an easy-to-use CMS system to keep website visitors in the loop about when the rooms will be available to book was also important. The system would also allow the owners and their staff to update information about the rooms and show new images.

High Quality Images

The scope of high-quality professional images to transform the look and feel of a website was really evident in this project – not just in showcasing the products and food but in conveying the character, style and ambiance of the physical space.

The Solution

We delivered a clean, impactful website using stunning images and compelling copy to inspire visitors to commit to a booking. We embedded a ResDiary widget on the booking page to allow users to book direct from the website, making it so easy for them. We also added calls to action for phone calls and emails to cater for those users who prefer to book via traditional means, and an enquiry form. The website has an interactive Google map for people to easily find The Angel Narberth, as well as other valuable user information such as FAQs, the inn’s dog policy, its opening times, information about the area, and the menus.

We knew the team at The Angel Narberth wanted to use the website to capture as many sales leads as possible, so we made making an enquiry for a gift voucher simple. Now, if someone wants to give a treat for a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas, the site has an option to send a gift voucher enquiry.

Other Challenges

As The Angel Narberth’s rooms are being refurbished to Lyndon & Louises’s high standards, we knew the website content would need to change after launch. We ensured that content on The Angel Narberth’s website is easily updated thanks to the WordPress CMS operating system, including information on the soon to open boutique rooms. We provided the team with CMS training to ensure everything goes smoothly, too.
