Website Design & Development
A family-run adventure company based in North Wales, Ty Nant Outdoors gives its clients high-quality outdoor activities from kayaking, rafting, canoeing, and gorge walking to climbing, mountaineering, hillwalking, abseiling, high ropes, paintballing, quad biking, and bushcraft. It prides itself on offering all this at affordable prices, catering to families, individuals, schools, and other groups. Ty Nant Outdoors helps people of all abilities to enjoy the great outdoors, from novices to professionals, in and around its base in Llangollen. Director Andy Turton has put together a team of first-class instructors and the company gives its clients the best quality equipment from established outdoor businesses like Liquid Logic, Peak UK, Dagger, McConks, and VE. It provides awards and qualifications, is the place for professionals to renew their qualifications, and has a range of taster sessions to help people choose the activities they love.
We were asked to create an improved website to grab attention, with a better user journey, a more concise site map, and a far better conversion rate for online sales of adventure activities.
To do that, the site would need to have e-commerce capability and an inspirational video header. Ty Nant Outdoors also wanted an enquiry form and newsletter sign-up to keep in touch with potential clients, and CMS training so they could maintain the site’s content themselves.
The scope of high-quality professional images to transform the look and feel of a website was really evident in this project.
Ty Nant Outdoor’s new website truly positions the company as leaders in its online marketplace. The homepage includes a ‘hero video’, a compelling video that inspires interest in the adventures the team helps other people to enjoy. It makes you want to find out more and continue exploring the website. There are also compelling ‘Book Now’ calls to action on each course and adventures can be booked in just a few clicks thanks to the website’s integration of their Booking Hound system.
There is also a newsletter signup area, and interactive Google maps on each product page so that clients know where the meeting place is for each activity. There’s an itinerary on each activity page and affiliation badges and review ratings throughout the website to help build trust and confidence in the company. That trust building removes any barriers to booking online. We also provided SEO services to help ensure the new website is found easily in search engine results, and we ensured a smooth site migration from the old website.
Site migration was a challenge as we took the information across from the old website and made the site map more concise. We had to set up a batch of 301 redirects for SEO purposes so that the new website wouldn’t fall off the radar with the likes of Google, Bing, and Yahoo on launch.
Web Adept have helped bring and maintain my company out of the dark ages in terms of websites and online appearance.
