The lovely folks from the Really Wild Soap Company make beautiful handmade soaps, shampoo and moisturisers using all-natural ingredients foraged from the wild Pembrokeshire shores around St Davids. As well as being a local success, their fragrant products are stocked in selected stores throughout the UK, including some of the National Trust shops.
With so many pretty products to showcase, including lots of fantastic images was high on the priority list for the Really Wild Soap team. They also wanted to incorporate their story and provide information that helped visitors understand the benefits of using handmade, natural products. When it came to e-commerce, the team were keen on improving user experience and enabling conversions by having clearer, simpler navigation to help shoppers find the right soap categories.
The scope of high-quality professional images to transform the look and feel of a website was really evident in this project. The product images taken reflected the ingredients used meaning many of the images included the beach. Amazingly, the client took all of the images themselves and it really did transform the website.
We delivered the complete package, giving the Really Wild Soap Company a modern, informative, fully responsive e-commerce website with a bespoke stockists map. In addition, it’s fully editable with no hidden maintenance costs. Their shop features multiple categories to ensure the shopping process is a clear as possible and we also embedded an Instagram feed that automatically updates, saving them bags of admin time. And a generous sprinkling of testimonials throughout the website also lets shoppers know this soap is one of a kind.
Although the client originally just wanted a few changes on his current website, a domain name stuck with an uncontactable developer and hidden fees to gain access to the old website meant that the client decided to move everything over to us. Once we’d claimed the domain name with the old Nominet switcheroo, we could gain access and get to work on creating a website that really worked for them. The client wanted to subtly incorporate their other venture, Wild About Pembrokeshire, on the new website. So, we added a clear but unobtrusive main menu link, enabling visitors to explore the other site without detracting from the Really Wild Soap brand.
