Review your branding regularly to ensure it’s clear and consistent across all of your social media portals about who you are and what you do.
A great tip is to assure that all of your social media portals look the same and are all branded and aligned. Your identity across all the platforms will look synced and will uniform your presence on line.
Use your logo for your profile pictures and ensure your main profile and cover images clearly display your business and core messages of who you are with clear and specific information on your products and services.
Most businesses just post as and when they think about it and don’t really plan or put a lot of thought to what it is they post and when they post it.
Add some structure to your social media management by creating a monthly plan. Putting together a social media calendar will keep you on track and more importantly create consistency, which is key
We are all very busy business people so its not always possible to just drop tools and get posting. Instead, think about preparing scheduling posts in advance. This can help save you a lot of time in the long-term and ensure posts go live when they’re supposed to.
Don’t rely on this too much though … you need some live posts going out which correspond with live and relevant events.
Make sure you respond to any comments from followers or fans. The same goes for any private messages you get too. Set yourself a ‘reply goal’ to reply in a certain time as this is measures by the social media portals and of course is great customer service and creates customer value too.
Listen to your audience and what they have to say about you and also industry and competitor info. There are lots of free tools out there to help you with this including hootsuite and sprout social.
This is a great way to create interactivity for your audience. Social Competitions can help to increase your interest and engagement and in turn grow your audiences.
If you drag competition entries to a separate landing page then you can collect additional data and this can be used for ongoing marketing and email campaigns too.
With any competition just make sure you check that you are working to guidelines so you are compliant (check with your industry and the social portal you are using before going ahead).
It can be quite tricky to keep track on who is following you and taking interest in your business.
Twitter allows you to categorize your followers by creating lists. An example of lists would be potential clients, competitors, industry influencers, news, other local businesses, networking contacts, etc)
Organic Social Media marketing is great (and free) however it is always worth amplifying your posts and create a budget to use paid marketing. Once you set a budget, decide on your target audience create some adverts to reach out to more people.
